A new version of Google Maps has just been launched with native support for the Pocket PC and Palm OS. That’s right, you can now download either the CAB or the PRC for your respective data-guzzling handheld devices.
Much like other versions of Google Maps for mobile, there are lots of fun things you can do like finding businesses and seeing real-time traffic updates, maps and so on and so forth. However, catch here is that maps and other frills are not available outside most parts of the United States and Europe; though satellite imagery is still available.
Even if you only have satellite imagery where you live, there is at least one more thing for you to do while waiting to pick up your wife, or standing in the queue. Certainly, I believe that we will be seeing an explosion and proliferation of other such applications specifically tailored for handhelds and mobile devices in this coming year.
For more information, or for a over-the-air (OTA) download, you can also can visit http://www.google.com/gmm with your mobile device.
